As I go through my Neely acquired 1940 1/2 ton I find things that are missing as I go, and questions come up.

would a 1940 1/2 ton have had an interior done light of some sort? There’s nothing there now but I’m thinking it may if had one originally.

And second question; being a 1/2 ton my truck has steel rims with dog dish caps.

What tire size would my truck have had on it from the factory, and what size are you guys running on your trucks?

id like to keep it da Tory looking which I’m guessing would have been narrow and tall?

My parts books only go back to 1941, but the

WC, WD15, WD20-21, WFM, WF30-32 31-33 34-36, WF39, WHM, WFMX and WFX

all had a dome light, part number 142 304, not sure if standard or optional equipment.

My Hollander manuals do not list much if any electrical components,

Sorry, not much help.

Well I'll be darned. There it is on page 8-41. Dome lamp group. I wonder why they didn't put it in the cab exploded view. I missed that since I never went line by line looking for things I didn't know about.

Thanks. I'll have to see about adding one to my truck.

p.s. Does that mean engineers who wrench are their own hero's :)

I was also surprised to not see it there and only in the accessories section.

And yep, I guess you don't need a hero LOL

Dome light was optional. 1/2 ton would have had 16s probably on 4.5" wide wheels. I'm running 215 85 16s on mine.
