Sniper Posted December 2, 2021 Report Posted December 2, 2021 Someone want to know what size bolts were needed to bolt a flat head to an HF engine stand. The stand I have, which is an HF one, will only fit the flat head in one configuration. Top two bolts are the 5/16 ones and screw into the block. The bottom two bolts pass thru an existing hole on each side and are held with a nut. You will need washers under the heads of the bolts to keep them from passing thru the holes on the engine stand arms. 4 1 Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted December 2, 2021 Report Posted December 2, 2021 I think the upper threaded block bolts are 3/8" X 16? 1 Quote
Booger Posted December 3, 2021 Report Posted December 3, 2021 well at least something from HF works..Actually HF is a good source of stuff you dont have to use every day. I have one of their 110 wire feed migs and its just fine for light duty stuff. Is that your rebuild Sniper? Take us along for the ride Quote
Bryan Posted December 3, 2021 Report Posted December 3, 2021 Thanks a bunch..almost had the transmission off, at least got the bolts loose. Maybe tomorrow.. then I'll order the bolts. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted December 3, 2021 Report Posted December 3, 2021 I have an old 4-wheel HF engine stand and the flathead six drooped when I mounted it to the stand. I supported the front of the engine with wood as a precaution. Maybe the latest version is sturdier. Quote
