Thanks for the update Keith. I hear you...I look at the glimpse of the bumpers and appreciate it's uniqueness. Art deco near it's peak from the Chrysler stable. I have a '39 Desoto Coupe nearby that tempts me too. Just too many headwinds in my life at present.

Rich Hartung with the 39 Desoto 4 door Sedan.  Can you get some pictures of the 39 Desoto Coupe. Also some pictures of the data tag on the left front cowel. There is a lot of information that I can tell about the car.

 

I maintain a national 39 Desoto registry and the information is so valuable to the National Desoto Club so that we can keep track of these very unique cars that were the last of their kind.

Thank you for posting! Very similar to Studebaker Dictator from the same year which I think was designed by Ray Lowey.  A diamond in the rough with the attributes of a fine cut gem! I hope it makes it into your collection given the excellent preservation it will undergo given your diligence in these matters. M
