SSGRHYMER Posted August 23, 2021 Report Posted August 23, 2021 Hello All We cleaned out a warehouse in Holland and found this transmission. The owner things its Dodge, but too small for WC Dodge 51/52. Could anyone know what it is? Thanks Curt Quote
CO54 Posted August 23, 2021 Report Posted August 23, 2021 Kinda resembles my 4 speed from my '54. Here's some reference pics? Yes, it's in storage right now....... This is the casting # on my Transmission case. C88221 (6-16-53) This is the casting # on the shifter housing. C-89989 (7-24-53) Hope this helps, let me know if you want more pics or measurements. Merle Coggins Posted August 24, 2021 Report Posted August 24, 2021 Looks smaller than the 4 speed trans. Maybe a 3 speed? Did 3 speeds have a PTO option? Also, I don’t see the New Process logo on the case that is common on the Dodge Transmissions. Quote

I'm older than most here and I've only seen one or two and that was years ago. Don't even remember what they were in. But, I think I see three shift rail holes in the front of the top cover, which would indicate a 4 spd. Quote
SSGRHYMER Posted August 24, 2021 Author Report Posted August 24, 2021 Thanks Everyone It does look similar to the 54 Trans, but as Mr. Coggins said. It does not have the New Process logo. It has that strange arrowhead that says CP on the side, and if you look at the numbers on top. There is some sort of emblem upper right. Could it be European made under dodge contract? The PTO cover is on the right side, and all the WC 51/52s are on the left side. First I ever saw this also, and it looks like a small transmission could not power a winch. Just my thoughts. Thanks again everyone for your input. Curt Quote
SSGRHYMER Posted August 24, 2021 Author Report Posted August 24, 2021 Just an update, the Transmission has two rails and not three. Thanks everyone Quote

Yep, I scrolled right through the text of your post while browsing the pics and didn't realize the pics wheren't of the same trans. Ignore me. So, if the trans only has two shift rails it must be one of the rare 3 spds with a PTO port. I'll dig around and see what I can find in the old interchange manuals. Dodgeb4ya Posted August 25, 2021 Report Posted August 25, 2021 I know where there is another one of the same... I also cannot figure that odd trans ID. Quote
SSGRHYMER Posted August 26, 2021 Author Report Posted August 26, 2021 Mr. Combs That would be awesome. It would be great to know what it is. I looked everywhere on the internet with the numbers. No luck. I thought maybe if the PTO port is on the right side, it may be UK. Then I realized that it did not matter if the steering was on the left or not. LOL Thanks and this info would be great. BTW it is painted red under all the grease. Quote
