Hi all,

Desperately need to adjust my brakes, but do not have the Ammco 1750 tool. Anyone have one that they could rent to me? I'm located in Marblehead Massachusetts.

Thanks!

You are better off just making one with a dial indicator. Use search to see how others have done it. You can start here....  https://p15-d24.com/page/p15d24/tech/brakes.html/ in the brake shoe adjustments section towards the bottom.

One other point, have you turned your drums to make sure they are not out of round? Even with a correct gauge it the drums are out of round you will never get them adjusted correctly.

I second Keith suggestion.  Send him a message, he can help you out as he did me.  Good luck.

I think this information may be in the downloads section of this site.  I requires removing the major adjustment bolts and cutting a screw driver slot in the back of the bolts.  Then adjustments can be made with the drums installed.  It's important as mentioned above that the drums are in good shape and that may require having them turned.  I used this method on the 47 P15 after replacing all the shoes, seals, cylinders and lines and it worked.  After about a hundred miles I remover the drums and checked for proper shoe to drum contact and all looked good.
