AK 17 Posted November 21, 2020 Report Posted November 21, 2020 Hi Guys, I would like to connect a dodge 230 ci flathead 6 to a transmission NP435. My questions are : - do I need to change my bellhousing ( connected now to a NP402 3 speeds ), or is there an adaptateur that could work from the 402 fixtures to the 435 ones ? - if the option is to use a new bellhousing made for the NP435, will it connect the 230 flathead right away with the same bolts and fixtures ? Thanks to All. Thierry Quote

kencombs Posted November 21, 2020 Report Posted November 21, 2020 Well, there are a few different configurations of the np435, depending on its source. This link explains. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transmissions/manual/np435 And, it would be helpful to know what vehicle and clutch housing you now have. In general, the front bearing retainer and main drive gear dimensions are the critical areas when doing swaps like this. Clutch hub ID and spline count can be adapted in most cases. 1 Quote

Or a quick comment to bring it back to the top, if it gets buried before getting an answer! Quote
