There is a thread on the car side where a member is having problems with the kingpin spindle being what appears to be undersize but also the worn kingpins appear to be similarly undersize........so the question is............are commercial, ie, pickup truck king pins the same size as those used in the car line, or are they smaller in diameter?..........thanks andyd

.795" is the diameter of the pins on B-1 and B-2 half thru one ton trucks.

unfortunately the Streamliner book does not give diameter of the pins but do show that between 1940 and 1947 two different kit numbers...where as the Dodge and Plymouth shared one part number and the larger sisters Chry. and DeS used another whereas there was a DeS that used the size as the Ply/Dod albeit earlier years however.

I saw that spec in my B2 shop manual too, but I also recall a Serial Number break during the B2 series when I was getting my king pins. The later B2's and B3/B4's have a slightly different size king pin. But I wasn't able to find the spec. yet.

there is actually at least 2 options, mine were the .873 width and I know a few others that have had to use that size as well, so although the .795 are the most popular they are not the only choice, except in some parts books.

if someone didn’t do their research and just ordered a set and had them installed I could see where a fitment issue could come up

I ordered my set from Rare Parts, about the only option I know, unless you find NOS ones.

Yes...Dodge in sometime late 1950 (B2) and all B3,B4 1/2 thru 1 tonners used the larger diamter pins and bushings.
