Recall of Harbor Freight jack stands

Over at the AACA forum there is a thread about a recall by Harbor Freight of some of their 3 and 6 ton jack stands.

 

I have a couple of stands but the part numbers on mine don't match and there is a sticker that has what looks like a date code and if it is, then it is older than any currently being recalled.

 

The paperwork filed for the 6 ton stands indicates the problem is due to worn tooling used in the manufacturing.

 

If you have any Harbor Freight jack stands, it would probably be a good idea to check the part numbers, etc.

Great, I have a set.

 

I forget why I bought them, I already had three other sets of jack stands.  How knows, I am a pack rat.
