Wayne3436 Posted January 29, 2020 Report Posted January 29, 2020 Can you swap a later model 2 brl. Carb By making a adapter for my 36 dodge coupe with a 218? Quote
Sniper Posted January 29, 2020 Report Posted January 29, 2020 Yes, how difficult it will be depends on the carb selected. I spent some time talking to Tom at http://www.langdonsstovebolt.com about his progressive 2bbls for my dual carb intake. He makes some good points. Dunno how well they would would on a single carb intake though. I would suggest a carb from a similarly sized engine as a starting point. Some like to use the 2bbl off a slant six. Quote
greg g Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 (edited) You can still buy a 2bbl to 1 bbl adapter for under 2o bucks typically mounts a small Carter or Holley from small v 8 2lke 273, 260, 289 and some Jeep four litres. The ones that Stovebolt sell for x 2 intakes were made for a 1.6 litre Pinto engine. So a single one is not going to feed an engine with twice the displacement. The small v 8 ones are at least in the displacement zip code. But pulling air through a 2bbl and forceing it to flow through a single throat hole doesn't make room for a lot of improvement. https://autoplicity.com/1777510-racing-power-co-packaged-2-barrel-carb-to-1-barrel-manifold?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1tKw9NSs5wIVAdbACh0AsQP2EAQYFSABEgJGJ_D_BwE https://www.ebay.com/p/6020660168?iid=323082738344&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=323082738344&targetid=858384114651&device=t&mktype=pla&googleloc=9005117&poi=&campaignid=6470544939&mkgroupid=97465916828&rlsatarget=aud-622027676388:pla-858384114651&abcId=1139336&merchantid=110881487&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI57mPwtas5wIVER6tBh2GLg0MEAQYByABEgJhl_D_BwE Edited January 31, 2020 by greg g 1 Quote

Tooljunkie Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 (edited) This looks like It would orient carb in any direction. a lot nicer than what i cobbled up. Edited January 31, 2020 by Tooljunkie Quote
