Jack L Posted December 26, 2019 Report Posted December 26, 2019 I'm sure there's someone, or maybe everyone, in the group that knows what the function is of the circled device on the firewall. I don't . thanks Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 26, 2019 Report Posted December 26, 2019 my first go to response in an electric vacuum pump 1 Quote
Jack L Posted December 26, 2019 Author Report Posted December 26, 2019 Makes sense, didn't think of that. I'll assume that it's "non-stock". Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted December 26, 2019 Report Posted December 26, 2019 his picture appears to be a P15 firewall...this based on the intricate curves shown in the metal. 1 Quote
greg g Posted December 26, 2019 Report Posted December 26, 2019 Where do the lines come from or go to. Quote
dpollo Posted December 27, 2019 Report Posted December 27, 2019 Plymouth used vacuum wipers until 1951 and looking at the firewall, my guess is that the car pictured is a P15. Quote

Good catch with the lines. ? Looking through pics of my 41 and yes they are different. I presume his vacuum pump is mounted where defroster push-out dents are. (not sure of the correct term) Mine lacks the two vertical beading. Another interesting subject. difference in sheet stamping ? Edited December 28, 2019 by chrysler1941 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 28, 2019 Report Posted December 28, 2019 Looks like a P15 to me too. It looks like there is a hole with rubber grommet on the side of the air cleaner into which a hose may go. Can't quite tell where the hoses go to. There also looks to be either a wire or a small hose running into the driver's side of the vacuum pump on the firewall. Need some more detailed pictures with description of where hoses go. Quote
