Plymouthy Adams Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 If it is on your invoice, what shock did they install for you....? Am sure some on here will find this relevant. 1 Quote
Eneto-55 Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 I'm curious if anyone here has both the F1 shock mount, and one off of a 37 Dodge, and how close they are to the same shape. (I think that's the right year - from pictures I've seen the Ford mount looks like a copy of the much older Dodge one.) 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 I have each but they are filed away somewhere for now and to be honest with you....not sure I could state is a lot of difference and that one will work as well as the other. IF I run upon these next time I am long term storing an item or having a need to collect from my long term, I will compare these closer and report findings. 1 Quote
FarmerJon Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 I may need to do this mod, as my lowered front has already killed my stock shocks. They lasted less than 5000 miles, 3 years. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 if you lowered you front...what did you expect out of your shocks... Quote
FarmerJon Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 I expected them to suck it up and not act like little bit ches. Quote
1949 p17 Posted November 9 Report Posted November 9 we relocated the front shocks on a 49 plymouth p17 before we ever drove the car. it rode stiff and felt every bump. we took them off and put gas shocks in the stock location. it glides down the road. the same bumps are hardly noticeable. we know connecting the a arms with a shock is odd, but it works, at least for us. Plymouthy Adams Posted November 9 Report Posted November 9 for sure there are different schools for the two set up...depend on how you drive them as to what you will get out of them....they tamed the beast at speeds to 85, figure that is all I best push it given conditions.....I would be floating like a boat with stock....not so now...nice controlled ride.
