BobT-47P15 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Pneumatic seat cushion......anyone ever seen one? I haven't. License plate frame.....expands all directions. Can buy repros today. Numerous car care products.......I've never found any of those containers around here. They had an Owners Service Policy along with an Owner ID Card for your wallet. Quote
Young Ed Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I have 2-3 cans of various chemicals with those logos on them. Plus a polishing cloth with the next newer style logo on the can. I missed a set of new in the box mopar frames for cheap on ebay about a year ago. They were listed funny. Bob who has repros? Quote
oldmopar Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 have one or 2 of the plate frames got them at a yard sale one dollar for both just the frames no attachment brackets , have the owners certificate and have a radio tag with the owners name from the radio of my p15 bus coupe (sold car earlier this year) Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 I don't recall offhand who has the repros, but they are out there. Has been quite a while since I saw them......but I suspect they are still around. Would have to go shopping. Quote

Young Ed Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Wow at that price I am really kicking myself for missing those NOS ones. They went for 1/2 that! Quote
windsor8 Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Cool information. I got a box of old license plate a while back, looks like one of them has one of the "Mopar" license plate frame on it. Quote

If you guys are talking about the repop license plate frames, Coker has them at a reasonable price. Saw them in their paper catalog, never looked for them on their web site. To be honest wasn't looking for them in the paper catalog either, just found them when going through their catalog. Coker sells several repop items like that, not just tires and wheels. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 14, 2007 Author Report Posted September 14, 2007 Those expandable in all directions frames are good for use with older license plates (at least here in MO) because they were larger than today's plates. My '47 plate won't fit in a modern size frame. Quote

Bet they wont work on the old state shaped Tennessee tags. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Bet they wont work on the old state shaped Tennessee tags.Don, Those frames should work on your old Tennessee shaped plates too. They are adjustable for height and length. You would need a flat backing plate to mount the plate into first though. However, all plate frames have a backing plate, even for the regular shaped plates, so they would work the same. If they don't work, it just shows how odd Tennessee is/was. By the way. Was down in Branson, MO the past 5 days. While there we took in the Bass Mall on the lake front between shows. Was dinner time so we looked for a place to eat at the mall. Found a place called Joey's Crab (or something like that). I like seafood and crab meat, so we went there because of, that and they had outdoor patio dinning overlooking the lake. Got to the table and to my surprise, what was there!? A bucket sitting in the center of the table with none other than a roll of brown PAPER TOWELS sitting in it!! My first thought was to say, thanks, but no thanks and leave. (Should have gone with my first thought). But.......time was short and didn't want to look for another place to eat. First of all, I ordered a coke as a drink. Well.........I think they had to go to the factory for that, then it wasn't just a coke, but a cherry coke. Then, my chicken was overcooked and dry. (Think they must have had to kill and pluck it too because it also took forever to get.) They did however bring a napkin with silverware wrapped in it. Great, at least a REAL napkin. However, it just contained a fork, no knife to cut your food with. Would have ask for a knife, but that would have taken the waitress another hour. So.........just fought with the chicken attempting to cut it with the fork. Had to ask for an ashtray three times when I first sat down. First the hostess said she would get one. Then when the waitress came to take the drink order ask her again. Said she'll get one. Well........later when she came back to take our food order, told her I would order after I got an ashtray. Oh yes she said, I forgot, I have it in my pocket and pulls it out. So........my gut feelings about places who serve paper towels on the table proved to be correct. From now on when I see that, I will walk out and find another place, even if it's Micky D's. Actually, didn't even eat all the Chicken. Settled for a box of popcorn at the 57 Theater later. Quote

Found a place called Joey's Crab (or something like that). . Norm; I would think installing a flat backing plate would destroy the uniqueness of the Tennessee State shaped plates. Joes Crab Shack is a national chain. There is one about half a mile from me here in Smashville as I write this. They serve good food, good drinks, and have good paper towels. Famous Dave's BBQ place there......food has always been good despite the paper towel napkins. Bob; Famous Daves is also a national chain. There is also one here in Smashville. Good food, good drinks, and good paper towels. In Don's license pic,,,did a bomb go off in your tool box??? -- Don; Blueskies took this photo just before the BIG RACE. Norm's Coupe Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Don, Well.........maybe Joes is good where you are, but the one I was at wasn't. Was a little disappointed too in the menu. As I mentioned I went there because I like seafood and the Crab sounded good. Had Crab Cakes on the menu and was going to order that. However, they were boiled. When it comes to me and seafood, there is only one way to eat it. That's fried. Their's was boiled. So............that was another strike against them. By the way, did you lift that picture from a Branson site? That looks exactly like the one we were in. If it is, we sat right in that corner outside. Quote

Bob, Anyplace would have beat out Joes. That sandwich looks good. We sort of got stuck for that particular meal. We went to the mall on the lake between shows and walked around a little. Then we didn't have time to go find another place to eat that night before the show at the 57 Theater. So......we just looked for a place in the mall. Other than that meal we had a great time down there. Think the best meal we had was at Dick Clark's 57 Diner the last night we were there. Also had another one at the Uptown Diner, another old 50's style building. The one with the yellow Willy's taxi sitting in front of it by the Titanic museum. Was a busy 3 1/2 days down there. We hit 18 places all together during that time. Only time we were in the hotel was to sleep and eat breakfast. Was out of the hotel every day from about 8:30AM until around 11 or 11:30PM each day. Had a great time. Just not enough of it. We'll probably jump down there again in a few years. We even hit Dick's 5 & 10 store in old downtown, now that was really interesting with all the old type toys, etc. jammed into it. Wife loved that store. Of course, I had to stop at that car dealer that sells all old cars too. Had some really nice looking cars on that lot. However, when looking at them you realize they are overpriced. Really nice looking 56 Ford 2 dr. HT Crown Vic painted dark blue with slightly lighter ghost flames, merc skirts, cont. kit and full length drag pipes and lowered. Was asking about $24 or $27,000 for it. However, all the rubber was cracked, interior was just ok, and chrome door handles were pitted. Also, must have had a flame thrower in it because the 3" dual chrome exhaust tips were turned purple from the heat. So.......even though it was a nice driver, it wasn't worth that kind of money. That's about how all the cars on the lot were, overpriced nice drivers selling for fully restored perfect car prices. Quote
oldmopar Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 All this talk about plates just wondering who has the rare P15-D24 plate topper mine is in the garage since I sold my coupe. Ed Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 14, 2007 Author Report Posted September 14, 2007 Oh, yeah....Norm, I failed to say earlier that the Famous Daves restaurant IS on the Branson Landing where you were. Have also been to that place with the taxi out front. Pretty neat period decor. And, as I recall, no paper towels. Quote

Ed Ed, is this the one you're talking about. Have mine hanging on the garage wall. Think Dennis has his on his coupe. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Bob, don't remember seeing Famous Dave's at the Landing. There was a BBQ place there, but don't remember the name. We were looking for something light that afternoon because it was so hot down there. There was another bar across from Joe's we could have gone to too. I was really set on some good fried crab cakes though. That's what got us into Joe's, thought they would have some. Oh well.......guess I did get a light dinner at Joe's though because I didn't eat all my chicken as it was too dry, tough and overcooked. It was also boiled and chicken is only good when fried too. That said, I really don't like eating in any restaurant after eating in so many while on the road for years. All the menu's and food look and taste alike after awhile. First thing I did when we got home about 8:30PM last night was put on a fresh pot of coffee and make some nice homemade toast in my own toaster and our own butter. That tasted better than any of the food we had at any restaurant. So......because of that I can be real critical of restaurants. It's like pulling teeth for my wife to get me to go out to dinner, even here at home. Also hate hotel rooms and living out of a suitcase after all those years too. That's another reason we got out of the hotel so early in the mornings and didn't return (even for a short rest) until about 11 or 11:30PM each night. Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted September 15, 2007 Author Report Posted September 15, 2007 That's cool......now I have heard from one person who owns one of those cushions. I suspect not many of them got saved. And probably the reason not many MoPar product cans are around here is because they were pretty much everyday items like wax and things that you used, then tossed the empty can. Quote
