Thsmedley Posted January 26, 2019 Report Posted January 26, 2019 I have a 1950 Dodge Coronet, it came with almost all the chrome in pretty good shape. I am however missing a few peices. The right side passenger front exterior chrome molding (4dr) and the driver's side chrome on the rear window...where can I find these! I've scoured Google, Craigslist and eBay, but it's futile. Anyone making reproduction chrome parts? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 26, 2019 Report Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) post a classified wanted ad....they are free.....few folks come here looking at the ads to move parts more than discuss cars. NOS is your best option, finding one from a vehicle without need of dents and dings being repaired and buffed is going to be hard for a car this age. Either way...fender spears are often very tough to find. Edited January 26, 2019 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
brian b Posted January 26, 2019 Report Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) Thsmedley I'm not going to have much for you at this point, but there used to be a vendor who advertised in Cars & Parts magazine who specialized in trim, especially Mopars. I was able to get a couple of pieces for my 39. If I can find a receipt with the trim, I'll post the name. I no longer have my Cars & Parts mags to look for you. Can't keep everything. brian b Edited January 26, 2019 by brian b replied wrong poster Quote
Young Ed Posted January 26, 2019 Report Posted January 26, 2019 were you looking for an ash tray like 2 summers ago? I pulled one at the junkyard for someone and then never connected back with them! Quote
Thsmedley Posted January 26, 2019 Author Report Posted January 26, 2019 No, I just picked this fat gal up from a friend a few weeks ago. Quote
Thsmedley Posted January 27, 2019 Author Report Posted January 27, 2019 Does any one know of the DeSoto trim works, I have seen them on eBay, but hard to tell for sure and I don't want to buy a $100 yard ornament. Quote
brian b Posted February 6, 2019 Report Posted February 6, 2019 thsmedley, Had a chance to look through my barn, found a tube of trim. The vendor was Fat Fendered Relics of Vancouver Washington. Looked on the web, found a phone number, 360-260-0434. I dealt with them a number of years ago and they were very helpful. Bought several trim pieces for my dodge, and recalled a conversation with the owner, stating he was able to re bend and adapt trim from other bodies to fit my coupe. Again, this was some time ago and companies can change, so as always, buyer beware, but I would call and see if they have what you need. brian b Quote

The DeSoto trim will fit, but it won't match what is already on the car. An Average Joe may not notice it, but any car guy, especially vintage Mopar ones, will, and it'll start to annoy the heck out you after a while. Quote
