1949P17BC Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 That's right! The Midwestern Chapter of P15-D24 (sounds very Formal) will be hosting an informal Happy Hour (thats Me) On Friday September 21 in the Embassy Suites Lot (in the show area ) Starting around 5:00ish. Anyone in the area please stop by. I will provide the first couple of rounds of St. Louis's finest beverages. Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Have you mapped out your route yet? Will you be coming through Nashville? If so when? Lisa and I plan on leaving either Wedenesday afternoon or early Thursday morning. Concord is about 425 miles from Murfreesboro so we could make the trip in one day but we might do two days instead. My motel reservation does not start until Thursday and I will be staying in Kannapolis at the Mariott. Quote
Furylee2 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 I'll look you up! A group of us are leaving Omaha Saturday the 15th, camping in the Smoky Mountains near Pigeon Forge, TN till Wednesday. We will be staying at the campground at Lowes Motor Speedway during the meet. Lee Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Lee; I look forward to it. Quote
greg g Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 We'll be there. Leaving here (central NY) on Tuesday morning. Gonna take US Route 11 as much as possible, probably overnight some where in VA, and then arrive on Wednesday in Concord. As this sounds like a tailgate deal, we may have to bring the coleman stove, and do ya'll up a batch of CNY salt potaotes. Guess we'll need to bring along some New York style adult beverages, and see if we can get a couple pounds of Coneys past the border gaurds also. (In other areas, most notably central and western New York, a Coney is a white hot dog, a milder, less spicy variety of the traditional pork hot dog. These are sometimes also referred to as "white hots." Coney dogs of this variety are usually served bare or with mustard.) We are staying at the Suburban Suites Extended stay about 1 mile from the Embassy Suites. Anybody do Bocce???? http://www.ehow.com/how_3109_play-bocce-ball.html Quote
1949P17BC Posted September 5, 2007 Author Report Posted September 5, 2007 Bring it on, If we want to tailgate, I 'll throw a grill in the back of my truck . We can have a taste of the regions. (have decided to trailer my car, it was going to be about a 2000 RT with out any other side trips and then when I got home I have to leave right away for another 400 miler work trip) Quote
Furylee2 Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Hmm, tailgate party? I'm driving my 68 Fury III and pulling my teardrop camper. Maybe I should haul out some good 'ol Nebraska beef from Omaha steaks. Lee Quote

Young Ed Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Now you are talking Greg! My parents grew that when I was little. I remember the first year they ground it in the house. WHEW after that we ground it outside. Sadly the plants have died off now so no more fresh stuff. Quote
greg g Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 OK, how is this for a smell from childhood???? Grandfather would be grinding Horseraddisg in the basement, while Grandmother was cooking kidneys, and doing the wash by hand with Fels Naptha.
