Merle Coggins Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 With all the recent postings regarding the value of our Mopar trucks and cars, I now see how to increase the value... All you have to do is put a Chebby 350 in it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1942-Dodge-Pickup-Original-Steel-Cab-Doors_W0QQitemZ290150404739QQihZ019QQcategoryZ6197QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
Bob_Koch Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 I'll have to keep a copy of this so that when I sell my truck for a mere $20,000 I can show them what a bargain it is. Quote
Young Ed Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Wow the price of my 46 just went up! Quote
greg g Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Cmon guys is aint the 350 is the corvette taillights frenched into the valance between the rear fenders. Quote
48WingNut Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 I don't understand why you would want to "toggle it up" with a measley 350 motor. Why not atleast keep it a true Mopar and put a 340 in it? Maybe a Hemi. How sweet would that be. He's obviously has a truck worth some bucks. But for $75,000, I think I'd build my own and keep it strickly Mopar. My 2cents. Quote

I'll even throw in a 350 tranny and new chrome plated valve covers to go along with it for the price. Almost forgot, would also throw in a nice new flexplate from TCI for the price. Now, who could pass up a deal like this? Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Well. who could pass up a deal like this? ME! Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 ME! Don, your loss will be someone else's gain. Just think, you'd not only have a $75,000 car, but just think of the fun it would be installing it. Quote
Mario Loya B1B Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 With a $75000 buy it now price, at a minimum the seller should have photos that are in focus. Quote
48WingNut Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Probably waiting for the big payoff to buy a good camera? Quote
Vintrader Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Maybe that price includes the building with the big roll up doors, Now that might be deal........... Dutch Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 With a $75000 buy it now price, at a minimum the seller should have photos that are in focus. But if he had nice clear pictures, people may not want to pay $75,000 for the truck. Actually, I can't see how people would pay that much for any vehicle unless they saw it in person. I'd want to be able to look and touch something before laying out that kind of cash for it. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 I too noticed the not-so-great pics, no interior or engine or bed shots. The reason it's so high....you musta missed the part about it has a blower on that chebby engine. zoom, zoom. And....it's a '42 model.....that always adds to the value. Quote
Bob_Koch Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 Here's a '48 for cheap! a mere $20,000 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-Dodge-Pickup-Truck_W0QQitemZ170139971925QQihZ007QQcategoryZ6197QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 Actually, $25,000 for a real nice truck is more realistic. However, the truck Bob Koch posted isn't one of those. Looks like a "Fast Eddie" job. Quick engine swap, a pair of decent bucket seats with console. After that's it's down hill all the way. For that price it should have a lot more detail work done, like some nice door panels and detailing the engine and engine compartment. Looks like all they did was dab some paint on the body and put a V8 engine in it, and nice seats to try and make a fast buck. They also put some nice wheels and tires on and probably some front end work. Still not worth anything near $25,000 though. Quote
