normanpitkin Posted July 22, 2017 Report Posted July 22, 2017 I have just fitted split headers to my 41 windsor and they are a bit close to the fuel line from the mechanical pump.Am going to route the pipe away but will still put a wrap or similar on the headers, has anyone used Zircotec 3 for this purpose? Don Coatney Posted July 22, 2017 Report Posted July 22, 2017 Here is how I did it with the fuel line. 2 Quote
Frank Elder Posted July 23, 2017 Report Posted July 23, 2017 Header wraps trap moisture from the heating and cooling cycle promoting rust, I would reroute like Don's picture or similar. If you ceramic coat the inside of the headers most of the heat goes out the pipes. Quote
greg g Posted July 23, 2017 Report Posted July 23, 2017 This is probably the wrong place to bring up wooden clothes pins.... I used modern synthetic flex fuel line to route it from the pump up the inner fender, then over to the carb/s. 2 Quote
laynrubber Posted July 24, 2017 Report Posted July 24, 2017 (edited) I rerouted my fuel line away from the exhaust. I thought about wrapping the close section but have not and so far haven't had an issue. Edited July 24, 2017 by laynrubber Quote
hkestes41 Posted July 24, 2017 Report Posted July 24, 2017 This was the set up on my 230 that I ran for about 5 years here in the Dallas area with temps often over 100 degrees in the summer with no problems. No wraps, clothes pins or any other insulating schemes. Quote
