Plymouthy Adams
try using the search term UNIVERSAL UPPER RADIATOR HOSE below is just an example..if you find this to your liking give the number to your local...should never be a problem getting one of these pups http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Dayco-Gold-Label-Flexible-Heavy-Duty-Radiator-Hose-82011GL-13-Long-1-3-4-/371638346443?hash=item56875f22cb:g:MHgAAOSwQaJXRflH&vxp=mtr
desoto1939
Try your NAPA dealer they have the straight hose for your radiator. Just need to know the inside diameter size. For what year car would also help. Rich Hartung desoto1939@aol.com
wayfarerstranger
All these old flat heads are basically the same as far as hoses go ? but this one is a 1954 230 . YEA everyone has the hoses you can buy it anywhere , you just have to take out a loan to pay for it ? i`ve seen it as high as 40.00 a foot ? As far as the flex hose MR. Dead Dear & Squirrel Carccus i have those and keep them in the car for a spare and they work great and are cheap also a good tip . But wanted the straight hose so i could use the metal radiator pipe in between . inside size is 1 1/2 " . Don Coatney
Chance, is the forty dollar hose rated for gasoline? I paid about that much for the gas tank to fill spout hose but not for radiator hose. If I recall I bought a long length and cut it and the internal spring to size
wayfarerstranger
Thanx Don the picture is spot on ,,, i searched for Radiator hose not gas rated hose and that`s when all these crazy prices came up .. i think the cheapest i found was at least 10.00 a foot ? still seems a little high , i`ll keep looking around till i find a solution . Plymouthy Adams
lets just say this...I can walk into my local store, ask to look in the back at the hoses hanging on the wall in the store room and match up any hose I need without a second thought to me being back there....if you looking for gasoline rated hose, yeah..you going to pay dearly for that...and if you were to kill a squirrel or two and tan a deer carcass (albeit in the neighbors yard at the time) you could make a 'get by' hose till you find where Don C. parked his car and grab his... dang but that carcass did stink to high heaven... Merle Coggins
I don't remember what size is needed, but here's some 1-1/2" standard straight coolant hose at Napa for $13.23 per foot. https://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p/NBG609/NBG609 Yes, the HD stuff, or silicone stuff, is more pricey. wayfarerstranger
BINGO ! I found a solution all the Parts store carry a lower hose that is long enough to work and well over a foot at 14.25" for 10.79 and Oriellys has one that is over 20" long for 15.99 .
