Don Coatney Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Does anyone have a source for these leather boots? I called both Burnbaum and Roberts and struck out. Never mind, I found them on E Bay. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Leather universal joint boots? I never heard of a leather universal joint, but I guess it would work for a while. (Never mind; just making fun of English word order.) Quote
RobertKB Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 I recently replaced a rubber boot on my driveshaft in the '53 Plymouth. It new rubber one lasted a while but has split also. I ordered some leather boots from a source I know in Canada and will replace the rubber boots with the leather. They will fit any car from '38 onward to '54 (end of my parts book) and can easily be done without removing the pin in the end of the drive shaft. I will never use rubber boots again. Don, good luck with the leather boots. They are easy to install. I know as I used them on my '38 Chrysler which I sold recently. Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 4, 2016 Author Report Posted August 4, 2016 I searched the forum and found many threads on the rubber splitting after a short time. That is why I elected to go with leather. Quote
atlbluz Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Don, I have only been seeing 1 leather boot listed on ebay. Where did you find a pair? greg Quote

atlbluz Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Don, I snagged the lower cost units, but I think I should go in the boot business at 170.00 a pair! Watta think? Greg Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 well...look at it this way....you needed and had to ask where...guess you could copy the ones you have and make them...you can ask any price..getting that price is the question.....doing a sold/completed listing on that heading did not get any transaction for the one pair listed sold...could be a marketing ploy....got a set mark it last set available and automatic market scarcity...not saying that is the case....but in a contest of two people, did you come in second or did they say you placed last.... _shel_ny Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 A look shows that the previous pair sold for $62.99 (jan 2016). Now that this is the last set in existence they now cost more. Shipping is free(read as included) Quote
Sharps40 Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Best money we ever spent on the 37 was $100 to cut off the ancient design joints and install modern cross style spicers 1 Quote
