Mark D Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 Sold a 1951 to a guy in Belgium. He's asking if they had VIN's stamped in their frames and location? I seem to recall something about drivers side rear wheel well, but not sure if they stopped this practice at a certain point? Appreciate any info y'all can offer. Mark Quote
greg g Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 If it is there it will be a copy of the originally installed engine. Chrysler Corp uses the Serial number on the door post tag to identify an assembled vehicle. 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 If a passenger car..yes it should be that of the original installed engine number and should be just at or slight on the forward part of the rear axle arch drivers side...do not to the top or the back side looking as odds are you will find but the frame rail number..if you see an R or an L you got the wrong number... if truck..I think they are front frame rail driver side...a truck owner will assist you if that is true 1 Quote
