well I got my new toy home.  a 1940 pt105 truck.  I think it is in really great shape for its age, with very little rust.  the cab corners and windshield areas look to be good I think.  I got two extra grills and hood trim., extra dash, extra rim and tires and a extra set of running board brackets.

now for couple of questions:

1.) how's it look to yall?

2.) what is the best repair manual to start with?

3.)it has a D24 engine with it so its not original, but I think it should bolt in. ( is that right)

a.)any recommendations on the best engine degreaser,

b.)  size of bolts to install the engine

c.) source for new motor mounts and transmission mounts?

That is nice. To clean engine and transmission I like Super Clean. Oven Off works good too. I sponge brush on the Super Clean full strength, does not take much.

Looks pretty solid . Andy Bernbaum Auto Parts , Roberts Motor Parts . Both are on the east coast and they have catalogs . Vintage power Wagons in Iowa . Get a shop manual specific to the truck year and model and a parts manual would be helpful too . Measure the heads on both engines to see if they are the same length .  Check the links section of this forum .

Looks like a good project. Engine should be fine as long as you've got the truck bolt ons. You need the front mount, bellhousing, and trans.

ed,  I did get all the goodies.  Do you know if they have a Plymouth specific repair guide or do I need to use the dodge counterpart book?  and if so what would that be?

Nice find!

I've bought parts from Dodge Central Of Michigan, and have been impressed by their customer service and the parts they have on hand.

I would guess there was probably a plymouth truck shop manual but I can't say I've seen one. Buy the dodge one and call it good. Then go for a plymouth specific parts book.

I think the 230 engine will be a nice upgrade on this one.    to the casual observer I don't think anyone will notice it is  wrong.
