windsor8
Does anyone have a theory on the significance of the "O" in the red ? Edited February 21, 2016 by windsor8
Plymouthy Adams
it is a adaptation of the original Dodge coat arms that featured a DUG...look it up...lol....it was said a few of the original symbols was produced but drew immediate criticism and thus ceased production...how much of that is true one can speculate on that on their own time.... dale
It could be for Overland which Chrysler ended up with in a very roundabout way... Follow Overland to Willys and follow ownership.

grady hawkins
I am not sure about the O but I always point out the BOLD USA! Edited February 21, 2016 by grady hawkins
dpollo
Now that is a profound question ! I am inclined to agree with Plymouthy Adams' explanation but I have always wondered about the Flying Zero on the 51 Chrysler's hood ornament. The Coat of Arms you pictured is a nice piece of art compared to the over simplified one used on the Omni.
pflaming
I took a closer look at one I found at a swap meet. It was so dirty I only guessed at its design. It cleaned up as shown. Won't answer the question, but was found on Cslifornia. I have it on my truck.
