Seaside Pete Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 Hi Guys. I have just purchased some replacement exterior door handles for my P15 4Door. Does anyone know if you can swap them by just unscrewing the 2 screws on the outside, pulling out the old handles and re screwing the replacements in? It sounds too simple, or do you have to take all the trim off etc. Thanks Pete Quote
Young Ed Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 If your interior is still OEM you will have a third screw from the inside. I think that one got left off frequently as people repaired things. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 the one Ed is referring to is a shouldered screw for the door card (door card is the interior door panel in England) Quote
Ulu Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 Mine were evidently missing the third screws, and mine had had been completely reupholstered. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted August 27, 2015 Report Posted August 27, 2015 screws..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1938-1939-1940-1941-1946-1947-1948-NOS-Plymouth-Chrysler-Dodge-Door-Handle-Screw-/121719118598?hash=item1c57065b06&vxp=mtr Quote
Young Ed Posted August 27, 2015 Report Posted August 27, 2015 Ebay says under the upholstered panel. Is that right? I have some but not installed in my car but I was under the impression they went through the door panel not under it. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 27, 2015 Report Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) I only posted for the item not the owners imagination...lol....yes they are exposed in original application...through the panel...P15 door handle square post ends are drilled and taps for this application... Plymouthy Adams Posted August 27, 2015 Report Posted August 27, 2015 Thanks Tim. Good to know my memory hasn't failed me completely.... for the record, contrary to popular belief..it is not the memory that is first to go... Quote
Niel Hoback Posted August 27, 2015 Report Posted August 27, 2015 Unfortunately, the memory of what goes first is a memory that never goes away. Quote
