I just purchased a 52 b-3-d. I'm am starting rewire it, because the wiring in it is a mess. I am working on getting horn working. I can't find anywhere under the hood where one of the wires goes to the horn button. I took off the horn ring and pulled it out. The wire attached to the horn button is cut off inside the steering column. So I am wondering if anyone knows where the wire from the horn button comes out of the steering shaft?

Any input would be appreciated

Thank you for the reply, I do have this wiring diagram already, I am wondering where the wire that comes from the horn button comes out of the steering column at?

On my B1B mine goes all the way down inside the column and comes out the bottom. ( imagine looking down a pipe) then it snakes its way up and around the engine compartment to the horn. Dont know if its right, thats the way it was when I got the truck.

I looked around on the steering box and shaft and could not locate any hole where a wire might come out. If it's not to much trouble would anyone be able to post a picture of this so I can see the location on the box that it comes out of?

The wire feeds up through the cover plate at the bottom end of the steering shaft.  There is a standpipe in there that keeps the lubricant in the box.  This is the ground side of the horn circuit.    Leave enough slack or a sweep in the wire at the bottom of the column to allow for the turning of the wheel.

It is easiest to run the wire from the steering box up the column rather than down from above.   The wire hits the standpipe and won't continue thru.  The trucks I have did not have relays.  The hot lead comes from under the dash to the horn and the ground goes from the horn to the button in the steering wheel.

The old style horns should have a relay, they draw a fair amount of amps on a long blast, but you can wire them direct. I would suggest a fuse in the system, rather then just off the hot side of the key

You're luck you have the button.  My truck is actually missing the button completely.  Still looking for somewhere to find one.
