  2. My B1B will no longer start. It had been idle for a few months. I got a new battery as the old one had died very quick after charges the last time I used it. now I can’t start it. I sprayed some starter fluid in the carb and it fires up for a few seconds. Then dies. The spark plugs seem okay, fuel is going into the carb. anyone got any ideas?

  4. Looks like Al Roker is driving around in a nicely restored B1-B as part of the garden grown segment. http://www.nbcnews.com/video/al-roker-s-garden-on-the-go-honors-first-lady-s-let-s-go-initiative-724990531566
  5. Going to be installing mine with windshield adhesive next week. Will let you all know how it goes
  6. Are you going to glue it in? If so which glue? I just got one myself
  7. I've just found that my truck has two extra horns behind the front grill. They look just like the B3B ones above. I also have the standard long horn B1B too. Of course neither are wired, have relays and the horn button is missing from behind the cap on the steering wheel. Something else to add to the list to get working. If anyone has sources for the button it would be much appreciated.
  8. I didn't even know there was supposed to be a gasket there. Explains why the rain is coming in! (Not a huge problem in California). Order a new gasket and will try fitting it.
  9. I ended up removing the entire carb and taking it for a rebuild. Awesome work by Ace Fuel Systems in Santa Clara. They did a great job Unfortunately I broke the vacuum line when removing the carb so I had to make a new one (learning so much with this). It's all back together and feels so much better. The engine has a lot more power
  10. Does anyone know the spec of the bolts used to hold in the access panels on the B1B doors? Mine are missing most of them and my local hardware store doesn't have anything close.
  11. I don't want to complain about your vacuum line but rather ask where to source a new one. My was so brittle that removing the cab broken it. I don't mind if it looks like the original really.
  12. Thanks. All the parts have arrived and I'll try following mikes video.
  13. So I got it going with some starter spray in the carb. Then the fuel started flowing. So it must have been clogged after the fuel filter was changed. However, now I've got fuel dripping out of the carb! At lest it starts every time now. Looks like I need to rebuild or get a new one. It's marked as "0-661" and "636" Anyone got ideas on what the actual part number is? Jon
  14. I've just got the same point and found that the accelerator pump linkage is missing Must be a common problem as from the build up it looks like it has been that way. Even with a makeshift linkage i'm still not able to get the car started though. Seems fuel isn't making it in.
