bach4660 Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 how was the hood originally sealed? I keep getting the #1 and 2 spark plug dimples filled with water when it rains, but I can't see any sign of rubber or canvas on the hood. Quote
greg g Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Thats why a popular MOPAR Accessory was the EVR DRY Ignition Kit Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 They come up on eBay occasionally. RockAuto sells a set of plug wires that comes with rubber washers on the wires, kinda the same idea as the everdry kits, only cheaper. Quote
greg g Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 The one in the picture is on ebay today ends July 6th. I just googled erv dry and it pulled up the auction. Quote
Jim Shepard Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Roberts has 'em, although I don't know about quality... Quote

bkahler Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Greg, would it be possible to get a copy of the instructions? Scanned in as jpg or pdf would be great if you can do it. Thanks! Brad Quote
grey beard Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 A piece of mud flap bolted inside the hood works pretty well, too . . . JMHO:) Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Bach4660, Do you have the cowl welting? There should be a strip across the cowl that seals the hood edge to the cowl (sort of). That stuff is available from different sources in the original canvas or rubber. Mine is in good shape, but I still get a little water. The butterfly hoods don't make for a very watertight engine compartment. Quote
greg g Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I do not have a kit or theinstructions. The picture was a copy paste from ebay to illustrate the item. Quote

Tony , no I don't, I saw some pieces across the cowl, but I thought it was just for vibration/squeak, not a water seal. thanks Quote

It has a adhesive backing and you just peel of the cover and stick it on. Comes in different widths and is pretty cheap. Quote
