Hello. Was at  local car show last week and stumbled across this interesting truck.

Hood ornament looks like a Fargo one so my guess is it's a Fargo. Name is painted on as mentioned above and probably someone having a bit of fun. I do not believe that Desoto ever made a truck but I stand to be corrected as I recently was in a different post on the P15-D24 forum.

I stand corrected once more. I had better start looking up information before making erroneous statements. However, I still think the hood ornament is Fargo but I have been wrong already so who knows.

South Africa was one of those countries fortunate enough to have received Desoto trucks from Canada. They can also be found in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and Turkey.

I have a couple of B series (and a C series) Desoto truck/s in my collection. The VIN tag is usually the best clue as to their build (see attached).

The truck pictured in original post appears to have the grill inserts on the center of the grille bars (see photo), which I have only seen here in Oz on Fargo trucks.

Yep, I'd be happy to abide by Davin's opinion! The bonnet mascot is identical to the ones on my Fargo trucks. I'm also in Oz.

Unfortunately I never took a picture of the tailgate. It has the name Desoto embossed on it.
