Dear Webmaster:

I don't mind ads from our favorite parts suppliers, and locality-specific ads from car dealers, etc., and I'm smart enough not to respond to the "Click Here To Review Your Arrest Record Now" site, but can you ditch the political ads?  It's bad enough that they are saturating the TV, now I can't avoid them even here.

Other than that, I appreciate your work, this forum is cool, and life is sweet.

Ads are sourced from two sources, Google Adsense and direct sale to advertisers. You can identify them with the tags line in the corner like "p15-d24 ads" or "Adsense". Google Adsense ads are based on your location and/or search history in Google.  Unfortunately I don't have any control over the content of the Adsense ads.

when I first read this I said what ads...I never see ads and thus never have any to reference...I downloaded a free software that blocks ads and you can tailor this application for any program/forum you participate on the internet...I have using this software for so long now that it is something I had forgot about doing it..I think it was with the latest upgrade of this forum I went this route..you have this option...

I too have ads blocked via a free blocker. But to give GTK the little revenue that the ads generate I have enabled ads for this site only.

I am using an alternative web search engine that does not make its money selling advertising and have taken a number of measures to reduce the tracking that Google, Yahoo and others can do on me. For that reason, or because my browsing history is so innocuous, I seem to only see the P15-D24 sponsor ads.

there are two schools of thought here in my way of thinking...and note the words 'my way of thinking'  first GTK gets p[aid to stream these ads on the site...whether I elect to view them or not..he gets the money for allowing the service.  OR..he get a kickback on ads that are opened for view from his website and again, if I elect to never open the ad..he will not get money in that case...so, see or hide...see and never open relates to the same funds...or can this be explained in another light and if explained by tracking...then I am glad I have chosen to block and others may well feel the same way as we get tracked way to much as it is..

I see some ads for subjects related to the site, and other sites that I visit. Not a problem for a site that I am using for free. No cheese needed here.
