Ruddigger
The ribs on the dash do not extend all the way down. It has '40 headlights and 41-47 cowl lights, and the whole thing is a little cock-eyed on the frame.
HanksB3B
Welcome to the family. While the B-Series Pilot-House trucks tend to dominate the forum we welcome all early Dodge trucks. Hence the name change to "Mopar Flathead Truck Forum" from "Pilot-House.com Forum". Nice looking truck. Merle Welcome, the forum has changed to cover ALL flathead Dodge trucks, so no biggie, we've got a few here with that era truck. I wondered why the name change but what about Poly head people. Afterall not everyone has a flat head. Andy has a truck like yours, (below) he's not a forum member and is definately missing out. Lucky wefound/youfound us. Welcome (I'm in Torrance) Hank Edited November 18, 2014 by HanksB3B

Young Ed
The ribs on the dash do not extend all the way down. It has '40 headlights and 41-47 cowl lights, and the whole thing is a little cock-eyed on the frame. So you have a postwar cab and a 40 front clip. The other way to tell is the front cab mounts. Are they below the level of the frame with a block of wood between cab and mount or above it with just a rubber cushion?

1TonDirtyMopar
Welcome aboard Ruddigger. I'm relatively new as well but that's one beauty of a truck! Welcome to the Forum Ruddigger, Nice to see another vintage dodge on the road in So Cal. We So Cal Truck Guys GOTTA get together !! Hope to see your truck and any other trucks in person SOON . Most definitely. Once I get my truck running and it's safe for the road I'll drive it finished or not. I still would like to set something up at the house to wrench and what not. John-T-53
Hey guys, new member here. It's not a Pilot House, but I recently picked up this truck. It's registered as a '40, but I doubt it really is because of the cowl lights. (Couldn't find the number on the frame, and the engine is swapped out with a '50 Dodge 230.) Anyway, I'm a SoCal guy trying to fix up this mickey moused truck and find others to learn from. Seems like I found the right place. (Hope you don't mind me crashing your Pilot House party, I didn't see a new member introduction section, this seemed as good a place as any.) Welcome aboard! Another truck with the old school PG and E colors!
