mrwrstory Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 I'm guessing custom. Tail lights look like Packard. Exhaust looks like Cadillac. Anyone real know???????? Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Tail lights are 1956 Cadillac. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 while taillights are the same 54- 56 it seems the very bumper is the deciding factor in my book for the earlier year.. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 I'm guessing its a Meteor or Henny hearse conversion of a 54-5-6 Cadillac. Did you take the picture? Was it at Boot Hill in Palmer? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) Henney had a sole contract with Packard at this time per all the sources I have come across. (through first part of 54 when all Henney production ceased, Henney himself died in '46) Getting details on vehicles such as this is often a bit of a challenge I have found since getting my 51 Henney Hearse on the 156 WB Packard. Miller may be the builder as I am not sure just when they were joint Miller-Meteor Old hearses are still quite popular...I bought the Henney Packard just because it was not GM... mrwrstory Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) You're probably right after looking at the backup lights again. However, I was thinking this one Edited August 25, 2014 by mrwrstory Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 that car is just a bit late for the Henney Hearses..they were built on the Patrician 300 series..I have been getting a few facts now and again from a man who has owned 3 of these hearses and I have been fortunate enough to get some nice emblems and trim from him also. Even at that the info is not what you call a gushing well of facts..he has conveyed to me that all three of his cars were OD equipped but were never electrically hooked up by Henney and that mine may be the same...it is in a position that jacking it up for an inspection is most improbable at this time..man would that be a hoot..327 straight 8 and OD....lol The car in question has a specific design bumper with small exhaust ports compared to the later larger ports in the bumper..over riders look close as does the vey taillights..so I am going with early car over the later...but I can see you thinking Packard with the lights as posted in your thread. casper50 Posted August 25, 2014 Author Report Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) no I didn't take the photo. saw it in a youtube video about abandoned classics most seemed to be taken in junkyards. Most looked as if they were out west. Edited August 25, 2014 by casper50 Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) I took these shots last Saturday in a local meet here up North... I presume it's 1951 Superior Cadillac? Most likely quite recently imported from over the pond. Edited August 29, 2014 by Uncle-Pekka Quote

The body was the same from 1950 to 53, only changes to brightwork. Below 1951 factory marketting photo: Edited August 29, 2014 by Uncle-Pekka Quote
