Saw my friend's 41 DeSoto for the first time, this weekend.

It's a right hand drive (South African car), with a Plymouth body, badged as a DeSoto.

A crate 426 hemi has been installed, but everything's been done to keep it looking as stock as possible.

Apart from the radial tires, wider rims, big tailpipes, and the enormous exhaust dumps inside the fenders, for open headers, you'd never know.

I'll get more pictures when I see it again.

Luckily, Don, he'd be competing in a different class (in every sense!)

He tells me that the car's so fast he's going to change the gearing to slow it down a bit!

It was built by Burnham Autos.

The project started about a year ago and is only just completed.
I got all the original parts that were taken off and the RHD exhaust manifiold and steering box were donated to another friend with a stock 41 Plymouth, who was desperately in need of them.

Sorry guys.

Jerry was running the event, so was too busy to grab keys, open hood, etc.
I snatched this picture before we left.

I promise to do better next time!
