pflaming Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 Many of us are acquainted with Don and his book yet never knew him. Would someone write a brief biography on Don? Thanks Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 I would tell you to read his obit but my book does not have anything about the author so I can't tell you what city paper to find the obits Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 I don't know if any of us are qualified for that, but I did find his obituary. http://www.startribune.com/obituaries/detail/19400/?fullname=donald-john-bunn#6YL9E2sqr9RSeSsI.97 1 Quote
pflaming Posted June 26, 2014 Author Report Posted June 26, 2014 I read his obituary. He was only 76 years old. The great ones always die too soon. Quote
JBNeal Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 Mr. Bunn wrote several books, his obit only scratched the surface I reckon of what he'd been up to all these years...this restoration book seemed to cover a little more ground Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 (edited) I have that book...bought it site unseen..had I had it in my hand first.I would have quickly passed on buying it...while nice..still not very in depth on the trucks as you would think..reason is, it covers all the years and too many models to be able to get down to the nitty gritty of any one make......great pics though..more of a history than restoration, hints to this and that..but not enough to call a step by step except maybe for the bed..do not think it is a good substitute for the actual repair manual for any given model..leaves you asking more questions than gets answered is my take..others may feel different...
