NiftyFifty Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 Just curious if any members have used the fibreglass rear fenders on their trucks and their opinion on them. I'm in the process of putting my truck back to having a box, but out of both of my boxes I have the fenders are pretty rough and I would prefer something easier to work with, if anyone as a set for sale I'd be interested too. Thanks guys Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 I have fiberglass rear fenders from Bebops Glassworks on my truck. They are very nice, were easy to mount, and unless you look close you wouldn't know the difference. http://bebops-glassworks.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=159:4853-dodge-truck-parts&catid=35:fenders-running-boards-splash-aprons&Itemid=60 Merle Quote
NiftyFifty Posted June 6, 2014 Author Report Posted June 6, 2014 (edited) Were they pre drilled for the box side holes? I noticed some aren't and that could spell disaster on a $300+ fender by the time I got it up here. Thanks Edited June 6, 2014 by 4mula-dlx Quote
ruff1148kr Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 great find, very few people make any of our body parts what else don't I know (lol) Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 As I recall they were not drilled. I fitted them in place and drilled the necessary holes. No problems what-so-ever. I already had everything painted by then, so I just held them in place, drilled the holes, and bolted them up. Merle Quote
NiftyFifty Posted June 10, 2014 Author Report Posted June 10, 2014 Ok...new but strange question.... I think I can salvage my drivers side fender, and I have another drivers side fender that I can save, but has anyone ever tried using a drivers on the passenger side by turning them? I can patch the running board holes no problem, but no idea if the holes are anywhere close or if it looks stupid. Quote
Dave72dt Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 The ends of the fenders are different from front to back. R board end has a flat section and the tail end is a continued radius Quote
NiftyFifty Posted June 10, 2014 Author Report Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) I could roll that small flat section out on a wheel I think, they seem really close to me... But has it been done before Edited June 10, 2014 by 4mula-dlx Quote
Dave72dt Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 You'll need to remove the reinforcement plate and fill the mount holes to wheel it. That would make what ever difference there is less noticeable. Don't know how the mounting holes would line up though. Quote
55 Fargo Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Just checked the 52 fenders I have, right side of course is beat, thought it may be a viable 1 for you, but no such luck, will keep my eyes open in the Selkirk Winnipeg areas for you.... Quote

NiftyFifty Posted June 25, 2014 Author Report Posted June 25, 2014 I emailed about a couple and never got anything back, I'm somewhat at a stand still until I figure out what to do about my hood. Quote

Do something else, don't waste time...there is always more stuff to do..Heck until it snows a hood shouldn't hoild you back. Hank Quote
NiftyFifty Posted June 25, 2014 Author Report Posted June 25, 2014 Not going to cut the frame until I know if I'm changing fronts, and that slows down a lot of mock up work etc. I have stuff to do, but I'm going to hit a wall where I have to move the truck back into storage and I want it all the way or as is, rather then a bunch of bare parts in my way Quote
fargo52 Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 If this truck has a 3:55 axle I will buy that from you and that brings the price down on the box ???? Quote
NiftyFifty Posted June 26, 2014 Author Report Posted June 26, 2014 Both too far away, and I really don't need another whole truck. That SK one looks 1 or 3/4 ton too me, so likely 4:11 gears. Found another 50 hood today....if I needed one of those I'm sure all I would find was 51-53 Quote
