Thanks !

that is the stock chrome metal moulding that is on the armrests. they have bend over tabs on the backside.

I have heard from others  that some models did not come with that moulding.

passengerside  rocker moulding straightened .

I have quite a few hours in this one rocker mouldings . lots of dents .

these pics show  where the dents were  and after metall filing  the dents out .

 tapped all the dents out..........

then metal filed to perfection .

then  started sanding  with #80 grit and work my way up thru  to 1500 grit  wet sand paper.

They"ll look better than brand new , when I'm done.

I'm going to start a thread  on my restoration project  on this site ..........

weather is finally warming up here in wisconsin...... sooooooo

I'm going to start my restoration  on my 1954 doge royal 500 convertible Pacecar.

I've gathering all kinds of nos items all winter for the  54 dodge .

so it's time to get going on it.. hope to have it all done by late fall 2014

here is alittle history  on the pacecar.

bought it last fall 2013

familly owned all it's life

owner owned a dodge dealership back 1954  that's when he purchased the 54 dodge

when he passed on ... it was given to his daughter  and  she drove it for a short period of time thru college

then was parked for 40 year.

california black plate dodge all it's life

here is what I will be restoring .  see pics.

john

Yes ... I did see the pacecar on 2015 barret jackson auction..  very nice car !  who ever bought it , got a really nice car for a great price. if you were having a professional restoration shop restore it ....  you would have more than $55K into it. . $$$$$ Big bucks !!

very rare convertible to boot.

as  time goes by and the economy gets better, collectior car values will climb some. also ,  It all depends who is watching the auction at that time. I think all the billionaires  investors are still buying most of the rare collector cars still. The average "JOE"   still hasn't  that kind of play money laying around right now. imo

Thanks guys for the compliments !  can't wait till this summer to show her off.

I  finished the other rocker chrome moulding  drv side  this week..  whole lot of hours in both mouldings..  2 weeks worth .

metal finishings all the dents, dings and creases takes alot of time  .

since these rocker mouldings are not available for the short wheel base dodge  anywhere (" be leave me I tried searching  ") I had to repair  what I had  and  I saved a bunch of $$$ doing it my self to boot . They look real nice !

OK .... what's next on the agenda !

I have the spare tire ring and cover yet  to do .. has  a bunch of dents to remove and  then paint  come spring .

and most of all all .... the interior parts all have to be installed yet come spring. then She is done !

cruise time ! show her off  !

Looking great. If you get bored you can come to Duluth and help me with mine.

when you take that vert to a show, make a big box out of lexan, put it over the car and make a sign ""Plymouth Under Glass". Been watching, very impressive work.

That would really confuse people, Paul, since it's a Dodge. ;)

These 'senior moments' are turning into 'senior ________', I don't remember that either. But I do know a good looking car when I see one.
