Guys:

Can someone please help me identify this Borg clock I bought?  Was told it was for a 48 Plymouth, and has 48 printed on back, but will not fit my dash.  Was so excited to finally buy a clock for my 47 P-15.  :(

Anyways thanks for any help you can give me identifying the clock.  By the way, if it fits your car and you are interested in buying it, just PM me.

Dimensions 4 1/4 tall, by 2 3/8 wide, hands will move with set screws, but not sure if it works electrically.

Thanks as always,

Greg (needs to get off EBAY) Fernandez

Here's a picture of a clock in a '46 New Yorker.  The face and knob look the same, but the trim looks a bit different.

It looks like my 47 DeSoto clock.

Agreed it looks like the NOS desoto clock I sold.

If you find another you think might be right the biggest clue is the lack of a 6 on the p15 clock.

It's a 1946-48 Chrysler clock...

That is a beautiful dash Bob. Is it yours? what model is it?

Darren

Darren as you know by now it's a 1948 Chrysler Town and Country staright "8" woodie.

As for the picture of Don in it..... I had to let Don sit in it as he was really bugging me about buying it. I told him at this time I just couldn't let it go and no it was not for sale!!!!.

Well, now, Don is one up on me.   I have never sat in a T & C woodie.  I don't even know of any anywhere near

where I live.  Used to be one parked in one bay of a service station in Springfield, MO for many years......but it

seems to be gone now.  Owner probably finally decided to sell after the price got way up there.  I never did stop

in to look at it......but should have just for fun.  Ah well.

And Ed is correct.....the P15 clock does not have the number 6 at the bottom.  Is a bit more square while some

others are a bit slimmer and taller.  One time I found a P15 clock at a swap meet in a box of assorted car parts

offered by a seller.  I don't think he knew what it fit and sold it for $15.  Is in pretty good shape.....am keeping it

for a spare or in case I ever get another P15.  So....it pays to look in assorted parts boxes 'cause you never know

what may be lurking there.

I finally got an original cigarette lighter a couple years ago that had sat for all these

years still in the dash of an old coupe.  The owner didn't consider the lighter a big deal, and sold it to me for

$25.  I had been looking for one for years and did not want to pay the prices they were asking on eBay.  So...I

just got lucky.   Moral of the story......just keep looking......everywhere.  Sometimes things crop up.

Oh..........at the last Springfield, MO swap meet..........an eBay vendor I knew of was trying to clean out stuff

from his storage facility.....was selling all kinds of old parts for $1 each.  So I bought a nice pair of P15 stainless

headlight rings for a buck each.  A couple glass tail light lenses for the same price.  Just keep looking............
