41/53dodges Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 If you want a cheap easy method, all I did was grab a cheap chinese extension for my 3/8" and ground it to fit the plug. Much cheaper than buying one! but only does one size... Quote
HanksB3B Posted December 31, 2013 Author Report Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Today was a perfect day, completely unplanned and just great. I awoke from a Nyquil Night’s rest to discover I was feeling better from a cold that hit me yesterday and made me think I’d be sick for a couple more days this week. While I was talking to my brother, an email message from a Forum Member came through responding to this thread and the problem I had removing the drain plug. . He wrote that he’d be in town today and that he had a tool that just might do the job. He said he could be there at high noon. It was 10:30 and I knew I needed my Grandma Sophie’s Chicken Soup. I jumped into my car and returned from the market with everything including a baguette and managed to put together a BYOS (build your own sandwich) plate. Rod grew up in the town I live in and knew so much more about it’s history. (If you have ever watched the original Gone in 60 seconds) it’s a picture history of Long Beach and Torrance from back in the mid fifties or early sixties) Maybe next year Santa might give me a Cherokee differential for Christmas. This year I guess I was bad because Santa sort of forgot about me, but he said since Christmas is over now all he could do for me was to send me a Pilothouse Elf along with the Sled Runner Wrench that he wouldn’t be using till next year. After lunch, we went of to the truck and in a matter of minutes two hits with a hammer to seat the 5/16” tapered square into the hole and two hands pulling in the same direction, the drain plug screwed right out. The saying “The right tool for the right job” never hit home closer than this Thank you RodFru2u, Hank Edited December 31, 2013 by HanksB3B 2 Quote
