falconvan Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Pretty righteous deal for only four bills. I wonder what freaks him out about CL? People who buy from there aren't any crazier than anyone else. Quote

GlennCraven Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Pretty righteous deal for only four bills. I wonder what freaks him out about CL? People who buy from there aren't any crazier than anyone else. There seem to be a LOT of people freaked out about Craigslist. All the angry, all-caps sentences about NO SCAMMERS ... like that's going to stop an actual scammer. It does tend to stop, ME, though, because I think the seller might be a crackpot. When my daughter was moving away from Boulder, Colo., she was trying to give away some household items, including a decent television. Her home Internet had been switched off and her cell phone was lost. I said to email for the address or a phone number to text, and the phone number was mine. I only had one person reply -- FREE stuff, including a good TV, only one person -- and that guy flipped when I sent him a Boulder address but gave him my cell phone number that was not a Colorado area code. Said he was going to report me to Craigslist as a scammer. I replied, in essence, "What decade are you living in? There are people all over the country, especially in college towns like Boulder, with cell phones from other states. ... That isn't the case here; I'm her father and she's lost her cell phone, so we gave you my number for further questions. ... Besides this stuff is FREE. If you don't want a free TV, don't show up." So maybe that's the kind of person this guy is trying to avoid. But there are no more of those on Craigslist than on eBay, I'm guessing. Quote
GlennCraven Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 P.S. I can't make the image from the H.A.M.B. any bigger than the thumbnail. Does it work for anyone else? ... Doesn't look like a car completely full of rust holes at any rate. Quote

GlennCraven Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 I am, and logged-in, but it didn't expand the photo like I thought it should. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Apparently the original poster may not know just how to post pictures.......hence no change in size. If really interested, one might PM the seller for more info and more pics. Quote
GlennCraven Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 OK, so it says I'm logged-in, but when I try to reply to the post it tells me I don't have privileges. Perhaps my account has been disabled, the message suggests (I wouldn't know why) or perhaps I haven't been fully activated yet (though I've posted five times there, so that can't be it). ... So, WTF? Plymouthy Adams Posted August 27, 2013 Report Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) Hamb does not allow reply to active selling threads..one willhave to correspond via E-mail or PM....it is considered an unfair bump..... Edited August 27, 2013 by Plymouthy Adams 1 Quote

I learned a long time ago that it's easier to sell stuff than it is to give it away. People are suspiscious of free stuff. Tell them you have a good tv for 50 bucks and let them beat you down to $25,and they are as happy as clams. 1 Quote

Look up on the left by the posters avatar, and put your mouse on his info and lines will pop up allowing you to email or pm him. My experience with the HAMB is that you don't always get notifications about PM's,so it's better to just click on the email link and put something like "Plymouth sedan on The Hamb" in the subject box so they know it isn't spam. Who knows,I may even want to buy some parts off it when I get to work on redoing my 48 coupe this winter? Especially if any of the dash pot metal is free of pits and not cracked. Just sent 1 set of dash chrome off to another guy on here. Quote
daddyo23 Posted August 27, 2013 Report Posted August 27, 2013 Let me know what he says, Ed. I've been thinking about it, too. Maybe a joint venture... Quote
