Could someone please post a picture showing the hood rubber bumper location for a 49 B1B?  I ordered a pair from Roberts but from what I have been reading on the forum they are not as tall as they need to be.  Thanks!

sadly I don't think anyone has the "right" bumper for the PH trucks, I ordered them from everyone that advertised them and they all were a little small.  So I got a bunch of bumpers from Restoration Specialties, found one that was too tall and and cut them to the right height.

There is one on each side next to the radiator support rod. I am sure I am using the wrong terminology.  Mine fit nice, I think I got them from Ropberts.

ok, looks liek for the earlier models the ones from Roberts would be correct, but they aren't for a 51+, sorry for any confusion

The pads on the '48 only have marks left on the sheet metal where they once were, but I've got a remnant of the hood bumper pad on the '49, dunno how thick it needs to be but judging from the rub marks on the hood, it probably wouldn't hurt to put some sort of anti-squeak on the radiator shell to cut down on the chafing.  The Spring Special still has its hood bumper pads intact, but the ones on the flatbed are long gone.

FWIW the local hardware store had bins with rubber bumpers like that. They matched the ones I'm using on my 48 ply.

665-3122 Balkamp part number from NAPA. Used them on my 48 D24 without problem. I think in paid about 5 bucks for a pack of 5. They looked a bit taller than the ones on my car but the hoods line up better with the new ones.
