China, Taiwan, Egypt...you as a consumer have no control and to me that is sad but also keep in mind that they have a wide variety of places to exchange defective tools and as long as they honor that exchange policy...that is still the + in their selling niche of the market...I sometimes have a Craftsman fai lon me and to date it has been no problem exchanging them...jobbers like Matco and Snap-on bad mouth the ?Craftsman tools and spread some very malicious rumor on exchange policy to get the naïve kids at shops etc to buy into their high dollar junk...the worse tool jobber in the world in my opinion is Snap-on....experience and opinions vary compared on the very service one finds in their area..

Stanley used to have a stamping plant in Wichita Falls Texas where they just changed dies and stamped Craftsman, Snap On, Husky, Proto,  Black Hawk and New Britten and many more but they closed it years ago.  If you use Google or Bing to look up Stanley tools international you will be surprised at what they make world wide.
