Hello, finally finished my brakes & suspension rebuild on my 50 meadowbrook with a fluiddrive, so i go and try to drive it around the block and it seemed to take alot more gas than it should to move it. After i circled around back to my house i see tire marks where i was going. Why is this? I put it back on jack stands and all the tires freekly move. Any ideas?

Thanks

Ryan

Did you put the jack stands on the rear axle and the front suspension assemblies? Then start the engine and see what happens.

Check the alignment of your front wheels. I'm thinking you may have too much toe in causing the tires to scuff really hard when you drive it. It could be toed out severely too, but that would make it very hard to drive straight.

Thanks for the replies. Emergency brake was off. first thing i though of, When it was on jack stands i did start it and go through the gears everything sounded and felt fine. I'll look at the alignment of the front wheels and see if it looks odd.

I'm bettin toe-in.  You can easily check and set it yourself.  If that's true,....now we can argue about the correct amount.  :D
