Alshere59 Posted April 6, 2013 Report Posted April 6, 2013 Nice truck. Just for general information if you do a search for truck you get a few links that may help. For those posting them you might add them to the link section for future use. I grabbed a few from this thread. http://mopar.pairserver.com/p15d24ph_forum/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&andor_type=&sid=33d8dfc1dc958b95a95e09ae1997720b&search_app_filters[forums][sortKey]=date&cType=topic&cId=32730&search_app_filters[forums][sortKey]=date&search_app_filters[forums][searchInKey]=&search_term=truck&search_app=links Sorry to hijack the thread partially anyway Al Quote
Dingo's 48 Posted November 11, 2013 Author Report Posted November 11, 2013 I have been remiss in updating this report. Last month my son Jimmy and I took the "Old Girl" (his name for our truck) to the Bass Derby car show in Rio Vista, CA and entered the truck. My intent was to gather information and maybe some tricks from the experts. We had no less than three people around the truck from 6am until 2:30pm all day long. Most asking questions, some providing insight and ideas and others determined to buy the truck. It was a hoot listening to Jimmy (9 years old) tell everyone about his truck. I am surprised that he really learned the specs and was able to answer all questions. When ever someone would ask if the truck was for sale his dead pan answer was simply, "NO!" I found that everyone was nice and were learned allot looking at all the Hot Rods and old cars. By 2:30 he was dirty as a grave digger from crawling under all the cars. I also learned that he has no filters....like asking a guy with a 36 Ford, "Why did you put a Chevy motor in it?" To my surprise we were told to line the truck up for the parade. Even more astounding is that Jimmy won "Best Hot Rod under construction". He still has not picked out the perfect place to hang his plaque in his room. More later Happy belated birthday to the US Marine Corps, and happy Veterans Day. Mike 1 Quote
Merle Coggins Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 Cool story, and a day the young lad won't soon forget. I'll bet everyone at school is getting an ear full about his weekend adventure. Quote
DJ194950 Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 Time to get him his own set of tools-so you can find yours. If he is anything like I was at that his age, he'll be taking apart and trying to put them back together again anything he can get his hands on to see how they work! Good luck! Great outing for the both of you. Doug Quote
