falconvan Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Id like to know that myself. I was looking in Speedway's catalog and saw that they have an electric wiper motor conversion for a 48 Ford for a little over $100; I wonder how much modification you'd have to do to make it work? Quote
roadworthy Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 I'd also like to know since I have my complete electric wiper set up listed in the classifieds... it didn't fit for me Quote

falconvan Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Best answer is to buy it and report how it works. That was a baited question, Don. I'm trying to get someone else to buy it and do the work so I can capitalize on their efforts! Seriously; I probably will give it a shot in the near future. I'll be happy to share any findings. Quote
bob westphal Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 A number of years ago I restored a '38 Buick Special sedan for a client. He had me convert to 12 volt and install an electric wiper system. I purchased a kit from a regularly advertized company that excapes me. It fit quite well but the wiper action was reverse of the original. which parked the wiper in the up position. I attempted to install a '47 Dodge electric motor in my P-15 coupe thinking that it should be a bolt in. It just won't fit. Bob Quote

1941Rick Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 I put the Newport one in my 41 P12. They say it will not fit if you have a radio. I have a radio and it will fit if you rotate the motor 90' on the bracket Works well.......... Quote
P15-D24 Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 The 6v D24 won't fit in a P15. Probably can get one of the aftermarket kits to work but yo need to go to 12v Quote

tombstone Posted March 17, 2013 Author Report Posted March 17, 2013 i wonder if these electric motors came off another brand of car from the factory and they happen to fit our plymouths? or are they custom made from scratch to fit? would be interesting to see if they were a factory unit that we could get from the wrecking yard.
