Don Coatney Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 I think it mounts on the generator I believe what you are talking about is a dual purpose fuel pump. Pumps fuel and has a vacuum pump. I think the generator mounted pump was for the Mopar early power steering setups. Quote
plyroadking Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 Ive seen the dual action fuel pumps that have the vacuum boost also, but the one i took a picture of looks like one would hose clamp it to the generator and the adjust it till the pulley contacts the fan belt. I've never tried using it so I'm not too sure if it actual helps with the vacuum loss during acceleration. Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 ahah, I did not see that picture until now. I believe you are correct. Quote

greg g Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Cute little trico unit, looks like dorman still makes a similar one, just add a pulley. Looks like the rotation turns a cam which works the diaphragm. At least the old one had a zerk for greasing it. Probably work pretty well. Quote
