Young Ed Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 I think this is fast becoming a petpeeve of mine. Maybe Tim Adams is a bad influence but I just can't believe 12K on the drivetrain couldn't include a proper fitting upper radiator hose. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/plymouth/unspecified/1468392.html?refer=news Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Ed...maybe that is a good thing....I agree..there are a mountain of hoses in the local big box..I have never been delcined when asking if I could take a sample hose in and match up to what is hanging in the back....sample hoses are easily made by cutting old hoses and arrange and tape the straights and bends as needed to properly curve a hose to match up..these old wagons are nice..my good friend had one of these at one time..real nice driver..318 poly though.. ptwothree Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 A peeve of mine too! In this day of repop everything, and after spending a lot of $$$ on the rest of it, makes no cents to go cheap on a hose. I found molded hoses for my '64 Rambler V8...he couldn't, or wouldn't, get one for a '64 mopar?? Makes me wonder what else he went cheap with. Quote
thrashingcows Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 This is a huge pet peeve of mine as well. I used upper and lower rad hoses from a 71 440 to make the aluminum rad in Fernando work with it's new flat 6. Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 ..I have never been delcined when asking if I could take a sample hose in and match up to what is hanging in the back...... That is exactly what I did to find my upper radiator hose. Quote

Maybe maybe not Tim I mean whats next? Repainting my red wheels? Fixing the rust on my car?? Yes I've gone behind the counter and matched up hoses too. Even had the clerks know something off the top of their head that would match. I was trying to get 4 90degree heater hoses for my dual heater setup. Our napa guy found me 2 thermostat bypass hoses that were each so bendy they had 2. Quote
