I ordered 5 Dorman 568-010 expanding core plugs from RockAuto. They were about $3 each sold in lots of 5, shipping to Canada was about $23 total cost about $40. Arrived within a week, but order consisted of 1 Dorman plug, and 4 inferior Made in China replicas. Sent photos to RockAuto and then called. Customer service was great, assured me that they would send out 4 proper Dorman plugs at no cost to me. Today they arrived, 4 more of the inferior Made in China replicas. Contacted customer service and was informed that they are the correct ones and the original one was old stock and should not have been shipped. They were being nice to me by sending me 4 more of the proper (?) ones to me at no cost. Now they agreed to refund my original cost but not the shipping. All I wanted was what I ordered and paid for. Sorry for the ramble but am disappointed.

Hey Neil, I found some great prices on Rock Auto, but shipping price to at least Canada, is atrocious.

I now buy 90% of all my parts at Piston Ring Stores, a Manitoba chain, I get shop prices. It helps when 2nd cousins own the entire outfit, which includes a big machine shop where engines and parts are rebuilt. The old folks started the business in Winnipeg in 1953...

Shipping to Canada from the U.S. has gone through the roof over the past couple of years. Really have to watch that when you order something as it usually turns out cheaper to buy the higher priced item in Canada.

Bought a 1963 issue of Wards`Automotive Reports and the shipping, by USPS, came to over $20. Bought a 1980 edition of WAR from a fellow in Britain and the shipping was less than $15.

Glad to hear Piston Ring is still around. A great place to deal with. A friend in the 1970`s had a power steering hose rebuilt by them and it was much cheaper than buying one off the shelf.
