buds truck Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 Is the rear bumper correct, kinda neat!! Quote
B1B Keven Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 That looks like an optional rear bumper that's tweaked in the center. Quote
HanksB3B Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Looks like Fef's long lost homeless twin brother! Hank Quote
Dave72dt Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 looks like a standard low side box to me unless I'm missing something. Quote
JBNeal Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 I picked up an aftermarket bumper made from channel; it has a similar bump in the middle, but bent towards the truck, for a trailer hitch. Quote
dave5711 Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 looks like a standard low side box to me unless I'm missing something. It would seem I've missed that there was such a thing...lol I've never seen one first hand, and just never noticed in the pics. I thought the taller box was the big deal with these things at the time. Quote
Jim Gaspard Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 I have two 1952 B3B short/low box 1/2 ton's so I perk up in a conversation about them. The short/low box models (I believe only on half tons) were popular for short haul, lighter load delivery trucks like grocery, hardware, etc. where it was easier to lift boxes and merchandise over the sides and not have to drop the tailgate. Might possibly be other explanations. Quote
pflaming Posted August 19, 2012 Report Posted August 19, 2012 Is the depth of the low beds about the same as GM and Fords of the same year? I've read that the location of the Dodge front axle allowed for a larger payload, thus the deep bed which is also 6" longer than others. (2) Is the Pilot House cab higher than GM's and Fords? The lower bed is unique, but I prefer the deeper one. Nothing personal. Quote
