when i rev up the engine i get a loud "whooshing" kinda sound on deacceleration, on idle it doesnt do it unless i rev it, only on 40mph and up and on high rpms, what is that noise? is it normal?

Hard to say without hearing it but one of the things a air filter does is act as a sound suppressor. I believe that in the early days they were even advertised as such. I know that when I swapped out the air filter that was on my car then I got it (looks like the one for a '34) with the correct (per Plymouth Club) one for '33 there was a big increase in the whooshing sound when the engine revs were up.

Another source of that could be the fan or if not the fan directly, air flow from the fan or vehicle motion moving across something.

If its only on deceleration from a high RPM then it might be related to the manifold vacuum. Perhaps you have a leak somewhere, maybe on the line to the wiper.

yeah thats what i was guessing a leak but the car idles smoothly and runs really good, ill try to get a video probably tomorrow, its hard to describe the sound

Quick, check the fan bolts. That definitely sounds like a rattle. Somethings loose. Water pump or generator bearings? That loose air cleaner guess is a good one.

so i been reading about water pumps since the noise is coming from or around the water pump area, so i read that these water pumps have a grease fitting maybe mine is running dry and its making all this noise, so what kinda grease is needed and do you need a grease gun to put it in?

Water pump grease, or if you can't find that use the grease made for boat trailer wheel bearings and or outboard motor lower units.

alright thank you , and can i take off the belt and turn the car on without hurting the engine? so i can cancel out any other bearings that may cause noise

so i looked at the water pump today and it looks like it has a plug on top and a grease fitting on driver side of the water pump
