Mark D Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Fantastic early spring weather here in Central Massachusetts today so I convinced my wife to ride shotgun and we drove out to find the closest covered bridge to our home. We found one located in Ashuelot NH, not sure it was the closest, but its only about a 90 minute easy back road cruise from home. First photo is a behind the wheel shot crossing from Massachusetts heading north into NH on Rt.119, that's the presidential mountain range in the distance. Second and third are the bridge. Wife and I stopped and had a nice pic-nic lunch and talked to a dozen or so locals who stopped to ask about the car. Ruby performed fairly well except I think she's running rich due to the smell of unburnt fuel I kept getting a whiff of. I've been fooling with the timing and advance, guess I still don't have it right. Here's hoping for great weather again next weekend! That way I can avoid the honey-do list by distracting her with a cruise again. Quote
1940plymouth Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Glad that you and your wife were able to get out and about in Ruby, thanks for the photos. Covered bridges and old Plymouths make for great photos:) Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I agree, its a beautiful combination. Is there a better way to avoid a honeydo list? I don't think so. Quote
John Reddie Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Hey Mark, The Plymouth is looking really sharp with the skirts and all:). Nice photos of a super day. John R Quote
pflaming Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 I put the windshield photo on my screen saver. Try it, you'll like it! Quote
greg g Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 We just got home from a trip to my sister i laws place. Down in the area we met Bob D and Chet at last year. On the way home my wife said it's gonna be nice all week, are you gonna get the Plymouth out? The battery Charger will go on tonight and the snow blower will get put away to have full access to the garage again. So along those line, who in the northeast is gonna throw down the get up and go somewhere challange gauntlet for the spring??? Quote
Mark D Posted March 21, 2012 Author Report Posted March 21, 2012 What'cha got in mind Greg? I'm game... However, when I got home last night from my first "old car club" meet with Ruby in attendance, she wasn't running too well. You're gonna have to give me a couple weeks to figure this situation out. Idle is rough, I'd describe it as almost a lope to the engine... real stady shake at low idle. No power on acceleration. Just when you thought you had the kittens all rounded up, one escapes... Quote
greg g Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 got a vacuum gauge??? It can tell you a lot. I haven't anything in mind except maybe the Sunday show at Rhinebeck 1st weekend in May. Looking for somebody else to suggest something. Quote
