Ydnubla1 Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Hello, I've been working on finishing up Charlie's front disc brake conversion kit on my '46 Deluxe. After I integrated the 2# residual valve in the line to the front, I managed to cross-thread the line nut into the distribution block. Thus ruining the brass block. Will any 3-way 3/16 compatible block suffice, or will in need to find a direct replacement that has the same type of leads on top as seen in this picture? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm in a rush to get the car mobile again before a move in two weeks. Thanks in advance! Aaron Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 That is the stop light switch and will screw out. Just get another 3/way junction block and put the switch in it. Take it along with you and make sure the threads are the same. Quote
Ydnubla1 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Report Posted March 17, 2012 Thanks for the tip. It looked like it came off, but I didn't pry too hard till you confirmed. I was easily able to removed the brake light module. Unfortunately I was not able to find a place locally that sold anything like this distribution block. Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can buy a replacement? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Al, That should be available at NAPA or most anybody with Dorman parts. You probably won't find one exactly like it, certainly not with the mounting bracket attached. You might make a bracket that comes out in front of it and clamp it to the frame. The switch doesn't have to be mounted in that block, its just a handy place. It could be anywhere in the line. Your son, Bud. Quote

I did go to the local NAPA distribution center, and they claimed that they didn't have anything like it. I did not tell them what it was off of, so when they looked, they had to of just looked for a similar match. The clerk must not have tried very hard. I'll have to go back and maybe ask them to try a little harder. Quote
plyroadking Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I looked everywhere for the one I pulled off of a car but could not find it. I did find a couple on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stop-light-brake-switch-TEE-fitting-1-8-npt-3-fitting-/250926653826?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a6c64e182&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-Polaris-400L-400-L-2X4-Brake-Flow-Fitting-w-Stop-Light-switch-/160680176818?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item256948ecb2&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/STOP-LIGHT-SWITCH-INCLUDES-PIGTAIL-AND-BRASS-TEE-/130458509568?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e5feee100&vxp=mtr also an ebay search for "brake line tee" brings up some results that could work. Tom Skinner Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Perhaps Vintage Power Wagon, or a Mom and Pop Hardware (Not a bubble wrap store) Quote
desoto1939 Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 the part that you are showing is also listed as a Brake Tube Tee and is used onthe rear axle and was mopar number 660367 and was used from 1937 and upto at leat until 1942 and could also be used until later rich ahrtung Quote
Ydnubla1 Posted March 20, 2012 Author Report Posted March 20, 2012 I might be in luck. I found some blocks off a Polaris 4x4 might match the three 3/16" lines along with the 1/4" pipe thread for the brake switch. Waiting for confirmation from the seller, but it would only end up being $15 to my door. Crossing my fingers. Quote
Young Ed Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 Plymouth shows it 37-41 as part # 668929 p14 and p15 are different. Quote
