  1. Does anyone have the parts list for the Rusty Hope Brake Conversion kit? I need to replace a caliper, and can't find the receipts or the list at all.
  2. I'm a little apprehensive on going the ECI route after reading through all of this, but mainly because I don't have the resources to overcome the fabrication required (Precision drilling and welding of peddle stops). I have the Rusty Hope conversion kit, and will not convert to larger calipers that would cause me to deviate from the stock wheels. I guess this leaves me with a few questions: Is this my only option to safely convert to a dual MC using Rusty Hope front discs, and stock drums in the rear? If this is my only option, is there a concise list of parts that I need to order? I also read a few MC options mentioned throughout the 7 pages, but was not sure if anyone had zeroed in on the best MC to use. And the big question, anyone willing to let me solicit their fabrication skills to make the noted necessary modifications to the ECI bracket? Thanks for the great documentation, Don! I'm a novice, and appreciate the shared knowledge. Aaron
  3. Thanks, Don. Just read through the pages. I'll carry any questions I have over the that thread. Sounds like I'm going to have to reconsider how I go about this.
  4. I'm considering dual MC for sure. I've been looking at the one HERE, but when I called the guy immediately started to talk me out of it. Said that it would not work well with the Rusty Hope conversion. Has anyone any feedback on this MC? I'd like to go the factory mount route if possible.
  5. Hard to believe I asked about this almost exactly 3 years ago. Long story short (And several moves later), I'm with the car in AZ and about to remove the valve today. Really hope this resolves the issue. I've been dying to get back to working on the car.
  6. Thanks for the confirmation. I'd hate to start removing vital pieces, and I knew I had better check before doing so. So do I need to remove the MC to get to it, or can I get to it while it's mounted to the frame?
  7. Hi everyone, I'm trying to finish up Charlie's front disc brake conversion on my '46 Deluxe and I've been reading on here that my binding calipers might be the result of the stock internal MC residual valve. The questions I have are if I can get to it without removing the MC completely, and what exactly from the attached diagram am I removing? Would it be the part labeled "Valve assy"? Thanks in advance for helping the new guy.....again. Aaron
  8. I might be in luck. I found some blocks off a Polaris 4x4 might match the three 3/16" lines along with the 1/4" pipe thread for the brake switch. Waiting for confirmation from the seller, but it would only end up being $15 to my door. Crossing my fingers.
  9. Thanks, Bud. I did go to the local NAPA distribution center, and they claimed that they didn't have anything like it. I did not tell them what it was off of, so when they looked, they had to of just looked for a similar match. The clerk must not have tried very hard. I'll have to go back and maybe ask them to try a little harder.
  10. Thanks for the tip. It looked like it came off, but I didn't pry too hard till you confirmed. I was easily able to removed the brake light module. Unfortunately I was not able to find a place locally that sold anything like this distribution block. Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can buy a replacement?
  11. Be safe, and take lots of pictures for us. Sounds like a fun adventure!
  12. Hello, I've been working on finishing up Charlie's front disc brake conversion kit on my '46 Deluxe. After I integrated the 2# residual valve in the line to the front, I managed to cross-thread the line nut into the distribution block. Thus ruining the brass block. Will any 3-way 3/16 compatible block suffice, or will in need to find a direct replacement that has the same type of leads on top as seen in this picture? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm in a rush to get the car mobile again before a move in two weeks. Thanks in advance! Aaron
  13. Thanks, guys! That was my issue! Hard to see that it was a pin in that circle with all that grime. One down.....one to go!
  14. Hi, Sorry to dig up an old topic, but.... I'm looking all over the spindle, and I'm not sure I see anything that resembles a lock bolt. I see what appears to be some grease gun points, but that is it. Can anyone point out this mysterious lock bolt for the king pin? Also, does it matter what direction I try to drive this thing out? My assumption of course is top to bottom. I have been doing some moderate hammering on it, but have not gotten any movement. Thought I'd take a step back and get some advice before I break something with the BFH and/or heat. Thanks in advance! Aaron
