Plymouthy Adams Posted December 15, 2011 Author Report Posted December 15, 2011 never cared much for the grille in the Chrysler..reminds me too much of a politician seeking re-election Quote
55 Fargo Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 never cared much for the grille in the Chrysler..reminds me too much of a politician seeking re-election Really, I once felt the same way, but now consider this to be one of this car's most distinct feature. Amazingly, these grilles go for big bucks, often 46-48 Chrysler grille in mint or NOS, could total the cost of a P15s bumpers, grill and trim in fine form, they are super expensive as are the T&C side mirrors........ Plymouthy Adams Posted December 15, 2011 Author Report Posted December 15, 2011 not sure what Town or what Country the mirrors for this car are located, for sure they are not on the car..I was so-so and iffy on the 53/54 Plymouth once myself..I always thought the divided front window and removable rear fenders went hand in hand on older cars..now..after owning a 54..I find the car so much more refined in fit and trim and stylish to boot...you get used to it over time..why marriages last as long as they do...and before you jump on me..the marriage thing goes the other way ..her putting up with you in your older age and fitness of figure..can we correctly say beer gut on this forum??? Dodgeb4ya Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Fred is right on. I own a couple 1946-8 Chryslers and have a lot of nice chrome including NOS grille halves and the swan neck mirrors-part of my retirement portfolio, I hope. I also own a pretty rare 1953 Savoy OD wagon I drove for over 10 years-has over 300,000 miles on it!. That Savoy wagon always ran well and was reliable too-kinda handled like a go cart with that pipe guard around the outside and looked the part. I thought the 1953-54 MoPars rather ugly so I let the Savoy go to the dogs. Makes the remaining 1953 and 54 Plymouth and Dodge cars maybe more desirable I suppose. I'll keep my 1946-8 Chryslers-love the style and details of quality. Quote
